Highlight 3: Elite troops of Russian Pacific Fleet will take part in the exercise

According to Yang Junfei, Russian Pacific Fleet sent over 12 vessels to take part in the exercise, including fleet flag-ship Varyag cruiser, Admiral Vinogradov large anti-submarine ship, Kilo-class conventional submarine and others, all of which are "Elite troops".

Highlight 4: The exercise is highly demanding for coordinated operations between the two navies

"The ‘Maritime Joint Exercise 2013' featured large scale, full contents, more live firing and high requirements for capability of organizing and commanding, which poses a test for the coordinated operations of the two navies," said Yang Junfei.
