Macao expects up to 5.4 mln border crossings over 7-day National Day holiday

MACAO, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The cross-border passenger trips at all Macao border checkpoints are expected to hit 5.2 to 5.4 million during the Chinese mainland's seven-day National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 7, with a daily average of 740,000 to 770,000, according to the Public Security Police Force (CPSP).

Peak passenger flows are expected on Oct. 3 and 4, when the daily throughput could exceed 800,000.

The CPSP said it will implement crowd control measures at scenic spots and share real-time passenger and vehicle data with Zhuhai and Hong Kong to support pre-emptive passenger flow forecasting and contingency planning.
