NEW DELHI, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The BRICS Business Forum 2026 was held in New Delhi on Friday, with discussions focusing on strengthening supply chain resilience, agricultural produce and agritech innovation, trade in services, and the digital economy.

In his keynote address at the opening session, Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar noted that the conference theme of resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability is especially relevant as the global political and economic order undergoes churn.

Jaishankar said supply chain connectivity and trade facilitation have emerged as crucial, highlighting digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence, fintech and advanced manufacturing as major opportunities, while noting questions of access, standards, security and trust.

In his keynote address, Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal underlined the need for member and partner countries to build deeper, more resilient and balanced trade partnerships, and expressed hope that the forum would deliver significant outcomes and take economic dialogue and business partnerships among BRICS countries to the next level.

Noting that BRICS countries represent about 30 percent of the global economy and a powerful voice for a sustainable future, Russia's Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said in his address that the community stands for concrete steps to foster resilient supply chains, accelerate green and digital transitions, and unlock the vast potential of their markets.
