HONG KONG, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Sales of non-exchange-traded investment products in Hong Kong hit an all-time high of 9.9 trillion Hong Kong dollars (1.26 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2025, driven by record market participation and strong demand for fixed-income, currency and commodity (FICC)-related products, local data showed on Tuesday.

Total sales in 2025 marked a year-on-year hike of 63 percent, said a joint annual survey by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

The number of clients who completed at least one transaction in non-exchange-traded investment products jumped by 33 percent to more than 1.6 million, while the number of licensed corporations and registered institutions engaged in investment product sales grew by 9 percent to 452, said the survey.

Collective investment schemes (CIS) and structured products were both key engines for record-breaking sales, with sales soaring 85 percent and 53 percent, respectively. Notably, CIS overtook structured products for the first time as the top-selling product type since 2020.
