As part of celebrations marking the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, a delegation of diplomats and representatives from nine African countries recently visited Lexiang village, a traditional Dong ethnic village in Rongjiang County, southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The event was jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Guizhou Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Guizhou Provincial Sports Bureau.

During their visit, the African envoys rolled up their sleeves and tried their hands at tie-dye — an ancient Chinese textile craft passed down through generations. Guided by local artisans, they learned the intricate process of wax-resist dyeing and created their own patterns on cloth.
