Ghana ready to work with China to further advance bilateral ties: president
ACCRA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama said on Monday that Ghana stands ready to work with China to further advance bilateral relations.
Mahama made the remarks while receiving the Letter of Credence from Cong Song, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, at the presidency in Accra, the capital.
Congratulating Cong on his appointment, Mahama reaffirmed the strong historical ties between Ghana and China, noting that last year's meeting between the two heads of state in China's Beijing had yielded fruitful results.
On his part, Cong highlighted the long-standing friendship between China and Ghana, emphasizing the deepening political mutual trust and fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation across various fields.
He added that China attaches great importance to its relations with Ghana and is ready to leverage the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, as well as the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, to achieve further progress in the China-Ghana strategic partnership, delivering greater benefits to both countries and their peoples.
