Stories of High-Quality Development|From one successful enterprise to shared prosperity
Narrator: Fu Cunjun, Secretary of Party Branch of Shilipu Village, Luanfeng Town, Guangze County, Fujian Province
Our village is located at the western foot of the Wuyi Mountains. The mountains have gifted us with beautiful scenery, but also once held back our development.
In 2018, I returned to serve as the village's Party branch secretary. At that time, the village had almost no industrial foundation, and the collective income was less than 50,000 yuan ($6,900). On one hand, the village, nestled deep in the mountains, faced the challenge of having no industry, no resources and no funds — leaving us concerned about how to achieve prosperity. On the other hand, Sunner Group, a leading white-feather broiler company was considering how to help the village achieve self-sustaining development after years of providing jobs for local residents. How could we bake a bigger cake of common prosperity and transform one enterprise's success into shared prosperity?
That year, with the help of Sunner Group, we established a village collective logistics company to take over the group's feed oil transportation business. The following year, collective income exceeded 2 million yuan, and our village became a model for rural revitalization across the province.
Last year, our village Party branch partnered again with Sunner Group through a village-enterprise collaboration to establish and put into operation a meat processing plant. Villagers first learned skills at the company and then returned to work at the factory. With monthly incomes of over 4,000 yuan, they are able to work close to home, secure a stable livelihood and enjoy increasingly better lives.
Now, every town and township in Guangze county has "common prosperity factories" like ours. The government provides the factories, the village collective is responsible for funding and production, and enterprises supply equipment, train personnel and establish sales channels. With a clear division of labor and coordinated collaboration, enterprises and villages integrate and support each other in ways that meet their mutual needs.
From one successful enterprise to shared prosperity, and from "ten thousand enterprises offering assistance" to "ten thousand villages thriving," more and more socially responsible and dedicated private enterprises are taking root in rural areas, becoming co-builders of rural revitalization. Together with villagers, they are striving toward common prosperity on the path of rural revitalization in this new era.
