BANGKOK, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Week 2026 was held here on Wednesday, highlighting the achievements made under the regional cooperation framework over the past 10 years.
Among the attendees were Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei, and Chettaphan Maksamphan, deputy permanent secretary of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who delivered speeches at the event.
Nineteen new Thai projects under the LMC Special Fund were launched on the same day, covering public health, green economy, and agricultural modernization, injecting new impetus into the development of Thailand and other countries in the region.
Zhang noted that the LMC Special Fund has supported more than 1,000 projects, covering multiple areas including water resources, agriculture, education, environmental protection and health. More than 100 Thai projects have been carried out so far with the support of the fund, he said.
Thailand reaffirms its strong commitment to advancing the LMC and stands ready to work closely with China and all member countries to ensure practical and meaningful outcomes are delivered continuously, Chettaphan said.
LMC is an innovative type of regional cooperation mechanism among China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
