The 29th World Gas Conference debuts in Beijing
BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The 29th World Gas Conference (WGC2025) opened in Beijing on Tuesday, marking the first time in the event's nearly 100-year history that the conference is being held in China.
Themed "Energizing a Sustainable Future," the gathering has drawn over 3,000 delegates from 70 countries and regions for in-depth discussions and consensus-building on global energy transition, natural gas industry trends, and pathways to sustainability.
Jointly organized by the International Gas Union (IGU), Beijing Gas and Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events, the conference features more than 80 high-level forums and a record-breaking 50,000-square-meter exhibition space. Topics span LNG development, gas-renewables integration, energy security and digital transformation, with insights from over 400 industry leaders and experts.
The exhibition is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors. Leading global oil and gas companies, infrastructure firms and urban gas distributors will showcase technological breakthroughs and development achievements across the gas value chain -- from production to distribution -- to drive industry-wide collaboration.
As one of IGU's flagship events, the WGC2025 will run through May 23 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
