The culture and tourism departments at the regional, prefecture and municipal levels in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as relevant scenic areas signed 12 letters of intent on high-end hotel projects, with a total value of more than 12.6 billion yuan ($1.76 billion).
The deal was made during the 2023 Xinjiang Tourism Development and Promotion Conference on June 13.
The projects include a complex project featuring high-end B&B hotel clusters and campsites to integrate ecotourism with high-end B&B hotels, campsites, local experiences, and nature education.
Among the projects are the Sheraton Hotel project in Keketuohai, the Hilton Hotel project and an international five-star hotel project in Korla city, and the Hilton Garden Inn project in Wenquan county. The Wyndham Hotel project in Sayram Lake scenic area, the InterContinental Hotel complex in Kashgar, and the Eco Garden Hotel project will bring new accommodation experiences to tourists in the future.
When completed, these high-quality hotels will greatly enhance the influence, popularity and brand value of Xinjiang's tourism and inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the region's cultural and tourism industry, according to an official with the regional culture and tourism department.
