From 2020 to 2022, China's GDP grew at an average annual rate of 4.5%, making it one of the economies with the highest average annual growth rate in the Group of Twenty (G20).

Its growth rate was significantly higher than that of major economies including the United States (1.7%), the European Union (1.1%), and Japan (- 0.4%), and was 2.4 percentage points higher than the average annual growth rate of the world economy.
