The Young Mao Zedong Statue was an important landmark of Changsha. It is located in the Orange Isle. The Hunan Provincial People's Government began building it in 2007 and it was completed two years later. The statue was given a wash every year.
Starting from March this year, the statue was undergone routine cleaning and basic maintenance for three months. Since June 26, visitors can get a close look at the statue again.
