

Hunan exported rail transit equipment worth 1.03 billion CNY between January and May this year, an increase of 110% over the same time last year (Source: Changsha Customs Statistics). Of this, 876 million CNY went to “Belt and Road” route countries, a year-on-year increase of 270%. This was 85% of Hunan’s rail transit equipment export value.
Since January, Hunan’s rail transit equipment export has increased significantly, especially in March-May. March exports were worth 140 million CNY, a year-on-year increase of 250%. April’s was 290 million CNY, a year-on-year increase of 500%. May’s was 320 million CNY, up by 560% from last year.
In 2018’s first five months this year, Hunan’s rail transit enterprise exports to “Belt and Road” route countries have been stable. Several projects in Malaysia and Turkey have been delivered this year, which led to a substantial export increase.
From January to May, Hunan’s transit equipment export to Malaysia was 430 million CNY, accounted for 41.4% of the total value of Hunan’s rail transit equipment exports.
