
The First Plenary Session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) was held in Beijing from March 5 to 20, 2018. Five Pu'er people, including Li Mei, a Chinese language teacher at Yinsheng Middle School, Jingdong Yi Autonomous County went to Beijing to participate in and discuss state affairs as NPC deputies.

Li Mei, born in 1975, is a Yi native. She became a teacher in 1997. As a teacher, she was successively named Meritorious Female Model, Outstanding Head Teacher, Outstanding Instructor and Pu'er Backbone Middle School Chinese Teacher.
