China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) urged Argentina on Dec. 14 to observe the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) after the latter lodged five anti-dumping investigations against Chinese products. The Argentinean Production Ministry lodged anti-dumping investigations against Chinese exports including polymethyl methacrylate plates, multifunction food processors, metal protective fence nets, household dishwashers and steel piles.
Wang Hejun, head of the trade investigation department of the MOC, said that China would pay close attention to these actions. In addition, Wang pointed out that Argentina had lodged 11 anti-dumping investigations against Chinese exports this year, topping the number among Latin American countries.
China expects that Argentina will follow WTO rules and fully guarantee Chinese enterprises their right to demur, Wang said, adding that the Chinese government has been advocating a prudent, restrained and regulated approach, which would be strictly in line with WTO rules and implemented in a fair and transparent manner.
