China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) will impose provisional anti-dumping measures on unbleached bag paper imported from the United States, the European Union and Japan, the ministry said Thursday.
Importers of those products should place deposits with the Chinese customs at rates ranging from 14.9 percent to 29 percent of their imports starting from Friday, according to a preliminary ruling made by the MOC.
Companies from the above-mentioned regions have dumped the paper products into the Chinese market and caused substantial damage to the domestic industry, said the ruling.
The MOC launched an anti-dumping probe into those products in April and will continue the investigation until making a final ruling.
Unbleached bag paper is often used in packages of cement, chemical products and food.
