(Xinhua)    18:32, October 25, 2016

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 25  -- At least 60 people were killed and 117 others injured when three armed men attacked a police training center in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city, officials said Tuesday.

Sarfraz Bugti, interior minister of Balochistan province with Quetta as capital city, was quoted by local Urdu TV channel Dunya as saying that the militants launched the attack at about 11:05 p.m. Monday night at the hostels of the cadets.

He said that two of the militants blew themselves up while the third one was killed by security forces during a clearance operation.

The injured people have been shifted to Civil Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex where a state of emergency has been imposed.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but Bugti blamed banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi al-Almi for carrying out the attack, adding that the militants were getting instructions from their handlers in Afghanistan.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain and leaders of all political parties condemned the attack and vowed to eradicate militancy from the country.
