ZHUHAI, Oct. 22 -- Britain's Royal Air Force aerobatic team Red Arrows landed in south China's Zhuhai for its first performance in the country's biennial prime air show.

The team, consisting of 12 single-engine jet-powered trainer aircraft BAE Hawks and two C-130 support planes, arrived in Zhuhai, southern Guangdong Province Saturday afternoon.

"We are really making history today," said Squadron Leader David Montenegro, team leader of the Red Arrows. "We are excited to be here."

He said the British team, known for its Diamond 9 formation, will do a myriad of dynamic maneuvering, like rolling around each other and pointing each other.

Britain is the 57th country to send aerobatic teams to Zhuhai International Air Show since its inception in 1965. The show this year runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 6. Nearly 700 teams from 42 countries, with a record of more than 130 aircrafts, are scheduled to participate in the show, according to the organizers.
