Photo taken on Oct. 18, 2016 shows the exhibition hall of the Red Army battle site of Ding Guo Shan monastery in Danba County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Surrounded by undulating wreaths of clouds, the Ding Guo Shan monastery sits atop a mountain in remote Danba County. What makes it unique is a two-storey traditional monastery building next to the main hall which was newly paint in red and yellow. It's an exhibition hall of the Red Army battle site with over 3,000 rare exhibits in it. A regiment of the Red Army were once stationed in the monastery during the Long March, a military maneuver carried out by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of the Communist Party of China from 1934 to 1936. In 1989, battle relics like shell cases and grenades were found one after another during a renovation led by Danbei Jiangcan, the 39th generation living Buddha of the monastery. Danbei Jiangcan decided to collect these relics, and built the exhibition hall in 2006 to display these precious memorials of the Long March to the public for free of charge.
