Qingdao Tongji Experimental School in eastern China's Shandong province recently established a zoo on its campus. Offering a chance to get close to wild animals, the zoo was built to enrich the lives and broaden the horizons of students at the school. More than 30 species are maintained in the 2,000-square-meter zoo, including rabbits, alpacas, peacocks and ostriches. In addition to instilling love and respect for animals in the students, the zoo will also increase their knowledge of the natural sciences.
