The impression most people have of male students’ dormitories is not entirely positive. For many, the first image that comes to mind is a less-than-sanitary environs. But the interior design carried out by male students at one Chinese university may just alter that stereotype.
The four students in charge of the decorations are all majoring in architecture and design at Central South University in Changsha, Hunan province. The young men implemented classical Chinese home designs, incorporating traditional elements like the "Four Treasures of Study," referring to the ink brush, stick, paper and inkstone used in Chinese calligraphy. Their dorm also features a miniature garden, porcelain, carved wooden shelves and water ink paintings. Surprisingly, the boys' dorm makeover cost only 800 yuan.
