A cosmetics company in Chengdu recently posted a recruitment advertisement for a "Chief Face Reader" on a network platform. The applicant was required to be a male of over 180 centimeters in height and with elegant temperament. A preference was also listed for overseas study experience. The boss was willing to offer an annual salary of 1 million RMB to a qualified applicant.

On Sept. 26, a reporter from Newssc.org contacted Zeng Xue, the young boss of the cosmetics company. Zeng explained that the face reader position had been carefully created by her, in accordance with the company's needs. Since most of Zeng's employees are female, and because men and women have different perceptions of beauty, she said she was prepared to pay a high salary in order to recruit a handsome man who could easily get along with women and collect information about their requirements for cosmetics. The contributions of such a person would become an inspiration and basis for decisions regarding the research and development of new products, Zeng said.

Some may raise an eyebrow at Zeng's job offer and its accompanying requirements, but she explained that her company mainly makes sales online, and creativity and originality are essential in the cosmetics industry.

"If the 'Chief Face Reader' can provide useful new thoughts to the company, then it will be worthwhile to pay him 1 million RMB a year," said Zeng. "However, the money will not be easy to earn. He has to offer ideas that can truly help to increase the revenue of the company."

According to Zeng, her ideal candidate would be Wang Sicong, son of Wang Jianlin, Chairman of Wanda Group, the richest man in China.

"He has original ideas on the psychology and aesthetics of women. However, I definitely can't afford to hire him!" she admitted.
