Mantan Village, located in Zhengdong Town of Jiangcheng County of Pu’er City, has lived Dai people since the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, which retains Dai buildings of natural ecology and primitive grace for centuries.
Every household has a delicate bamboo fence in the quiet and beautiful village, inside of which grows trees and flowers. Compared with Banna and Dehong dominated with Dai bamboo houses, houses here hold their own distinct characteristics despite the stilted architecture.
499 persons out of 104 households live in the village, Dai people accounting for more than 95%. There are 18 pairs of transnational marriage since it is close to Laos.
