8K ultra high-definition TV broadcasting

Olympics Broadcasting Services (OBS), which has been responsible for delivering the images and sounds of the Games to viewers around the globe since 2001, is cooperating with Japan’s NHK television to broadcast the Rio games in 8K ultra high-definition. The 8K TV broadcasts will only be available to Japanese viewers. The opening and closing ceremony, swimming, canoe slalom and rugby sevens are among the events to be captured.
