Cooling off with a swimm in the scorching heat is one of summer's simple pleasures, but recent events in a residential community in Taizhou have proven an exception to that rule.
According to Ms. Zhang, a resident in the community, the swimming pool is available and free to all the residents, but many “outsiders” have started coming to swim since last year. Ms. Zhang remarked, “It was so crowded that it was impossible to even swim in the pool!"
This June, before the pool was opened, the owners talked with the property management company, hoping to solve the problem before it got out of control. The company promised that the pool would not be open to outsiders this year. However, after the pool opened in July, the situation did not change. Some non-residents even held swimming classes in the compound's pool.
As a result, on July 21, an angry resident poured ink into the pool. So far, the property management company has expressed displeasure with this action, saying that they kept their promise and refrained from issuing any access cards to outsiders. In the mean time, the ink stunt will cost the company about 20,000 yuan, according to their own estimations.
Police have gotten involved and launched an investigation into the incident.
