The results of 2016 Gaokao, or college entrance examination, was released on June 22. Liang Shi, a man who has taken the Gaokao 20 times, got 453 points. It is the first time that Liang has reached the college admission score requirements.

Liang is often jokingly called the "most determined examinee" by netizens as he has become famous for taking the examination so many times. Liang told the reporter from the Chengdu Commercial Daily that he was both happy and regretful for the result, because he aimed for key universities, but the score he got was not enough to apply. He said that he would take the Gaokao the next year and see if he can get a higher score.

Liang is from Renshou County in southwest China's Sichuan province. Since 1983, he has taken the Gaokao for 20 times. Last year, his score was 417 points, 28 points lower than the college admission score requirements. Although he has failed so many times, he never gives up. One month before the examination, he came to Nanshan High School in Mianyang City for exam preparation.

On the afternoon of June 22, Liang came to Nanshan High School early to wait for his exam result. At about 10 p.m., he finally learned that his total score was 453, which reached the college admission scores requirements exactly. "I am happy, this is the first time that I reached the college admission scores after taking the exam 20 times," 49-year-old Liang Shi said.
