At the ongoing technology innovation exhibition in Beijing, which features achievements from the past five years, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC) is showing its future smart cockpits to the public for the first time.
This is also the first time that the company has broadcast its pre-research results on civil aircraft since its founding in 2008, which goes to show how far China's civil aircraft technology has come since the early ARJ21 regional aircraft and C919 large aircraft projects.
The smart cockpit uses touch and voice controls, and features enhanced situational awareness technology that enables intelligent control of the cockpit. Also incorporated are air-ground communications and mobile broadband technology. The large touch display has a simple, intuitive layout.
COMAC is a state-owned aviation manufacturer established in Shanghai in 2008. It unveiled C919, the first-ever passenger jet built and designed by China, in November 2015.
