Yang Mingxin now probably is the most popular special force soldier in China with the most female fans. After he recently participated in a well-liked variety show, Yang became even more admired among the Chinese audience.

“It is my own choice to be a soldier.”

Yang Mingxin was recruited in 2012 when he was studying at Yunnan Physical Science and Sports Professional College. He made up his mind to be a great soldier. During the first 3 months in the army, Yang suffered a lot of unimaginable difficulties. Even though he would cry every time he called his family, he never considered quitting. Instead, he spent much more time training himself harder to keep up. Now he is the monitor of a special duty team with a lot of unbreakable records in the army.

“Only through hell-like training experience, can one become a real fighter and warrior.”

All of the miserable training drills these soldiers went through were all preparations for critical life and death situations that can actually occur. On Jan. 11, 2014, Yang Mingxin was also involved with the rescue team for the big fire in Dukezong town in Shangri-la County. During the rescue, Yang’s eyebrows and hair all got burned and a nail pierced through his foot, he fought till the last moment with his comrade-in-arms.

Yang understands no matter how popular he gets on the internet, he still has to be down-to-earth as a soldier in the army. He wrote in his Weibo that he cherishes every moment in the army and no matter how hard it gets, he will always be positive and smiling until the end.
