The world's first surviving septuplets have graduated from their Iowa high school on May 22, 2016, 18 years after they beat the odds and public skepticism of their survival rate.

Born on November 19, 1997, Alexis, Brandon, Joel, Kelsey, Kenny, Natalie and Nathan McCaughey all crossed the stage on Sunday as part of Carlisle High School's class of 2016.

On the day of their birth, the septuplets were ranged in weight from 2 pounds, 5 ounces to 3 pounds, 4 ounces. All of whom were born prematurely.

Their mother had taken fertility drug, but one injection of the fertility drug Metrodin proved more than successful. Both she and her husband Kenny declined selective reduction after learning they were pregnant with seven children, saying it was 'in God's hands'.
