On May 22, a man in Chengdu, Sichuan province set up a poster on a busy street corner to recruit 5,000 best men for his wedding. Applicants were required to kneel down and write "mother-in-law is another mother" 100 times on a sheet of paper.

Wang Jiang, 38, is the groom-to-be. In 2014 he found true love through an online dating site. He and his girlfriend registered for marriage in February, and they now plan to set a Guinness World Record by throwing a 10,000-person wedding. 

Wang said: "It was not easy to find my soul mate. I spent the last eight years searching for the right person. I know there are still a lot of people who are thirsting for romance, so I want to invite 5,000 single men to be my best men, and my fiancée will invite 5,000 single women to be her bridesmaids. We hope that our wedding can facilitate relationships between some of those single men and women." 

Wang wants all the applicants to be filial to their future mothers-in-law, which is why he arranged the “mother-in-law is another mother” qualifying activity. 

After five days of recruitment, over 600 people have applied to be Wang's best men.
