China has many different customs when it comes to the celebration of marriage. In some parts of the country, the bride and groom or bridesmaids and groomsmen get teased with some mischief as part of the wedding fun.

In a recent wedding in the city of Ankang, Shaanxi province, a groom was tied to a tree after having his clothes stripped off. He was then sprinkled with dog blood and sprayed by a fire extinguisher by his friends and relatives.

Such customs are especially prevalent and popular in rural areas of China. But they also bring with them some controversy; some netizens even said they would prefer to remain single over experiencing a wedding like that one!
