On March 16, 2016, many people queued up in front of stores of a shoe brand in Shanghai. Big sale? No, they just wanted to sign in as early as they can so that they can buy a limited edition pair of shoes.

This limited edition shoes officially went on sale at 11 a.m. on March 17 in Shanghai. Given the large number of people standing in line, the flagship store on West Nanjing Road was even required to stop the signing-in.

These shoes, which are originally priced at about 1,000 yuan, now sell for 3,000 to 4,000 yuan. The price of the shoes with special colors is even as high as 10,000 yuan if one buys them from a third party.

Most of the stores of this brand in Shanghai use “registration and draw” to sell the shoes. Sources say that it is quite difficult for someone to get the shoes because one out of ten has a chance to buy.
