Chinese state-owned hydropower engineering and construction company Sinohydro Corporation recently announced that the company will build a bridge across the Lena River in Russian republic Sakha. Chen Shijun, Chief Delegate of Sinohydro, said that the company will hand in a more comprehensive plan for the project by September, 2016, when this year’s Eastern Economic Forum will be held, Sputnik News reported.
A memorandum of the project has been signed between Sinohydro Group and Russian Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) last year. Both sides are expecting to have a plan for the implementation of the project by April 1, 2016. The construction is expected to be invested by the Power Construction Corporation of China, which is estimated to cost some 55-64 billion ruble (792-920 million USD) and will be built by 2022.
