Egypt says two hidden rooms have been found in the famous burial chamber of King Tutankhamun, following scans carried out by a team of Japanese experts.
Analysis of the scans shows the rooms may contain metal or organic material.
Antiquities Minister, Mamdouh el-Damaty, said the tomb of Tutankhamun will be scanned again at the end of the month to get a better idea of what may lie inside.
British archeologist Nicholas Reeves has speculated that the tomb originally belonged to Queen Nefertiti who ruled Egypt in the 14th century BC, but the remains of Tutankhamun were hurriedly placed there after he unexpectedly died at the age of 19.
"You know how big and how great was (the) discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun and we will have now rediscovery of this tomb to find behind another tomb of royal member - maybe the lady of the family of Tutankhamun as Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves said he thinks that we have here the tomb of (Queen) Nefertiti. It is very important for the Egyptian history and for all over the world it is very important"
