Weishan County in southwest China’s Yunnan province kicked off the sixth annual festival for its local delicacy on Monday. A dish of rice noodles and meat set a record as being the largest bowl of its kind in the world.
The festival started in 2011. Now a seven-day event, the festival offers hundreds of local delicacies as well as food from 12 regions around Dali autonomous prefecture. Visitors also have the opportunity to learn to cook certain local foods themselves.
The record-setting dish boasted 65 kilograms of rice noodles.
Weishan cuisine is famous for its unique flavors, natural ingredients, handmade quality and wide variety.
