A total of 462 motions were submitted at this year’s National People's Congress session. Among them, 442 are about legislation.
Topics covered include developing the legal and political system, improving the standard of living, and protecting the environment. Some motions advocated for an anti-graft law, and enhancing supervision of law enforcement.
There are fewer motions compared to last year, but officials say the motions by the deputies weigh on quality. More than 300 motions were based on research, inspections or discussions and interviews.
Legal motions included drafts and detailed explanations. During their discussions, deputies also made proposals on the country’s reform and development, the 13th Five Year Plan, and also issues of public concern.
