An extremely rare white-eared night heron (Gorsachius magnificus) is recently spotted in Dongxihe Village, Guangyuan, southwest China’s Sichuan. The bird has now been kept and fed in Wildlife Refuge Center in Guangyuan city.

White-eared night heron is known as the most “mystical” bird, as little is known about it. It is categorized as globally endangered. There are only 1,000 left in the world. The species was last seen in China in the 1960s. This was the first time it appeared in the Sichuan Province.
