100-year-old painter in Xi'an goes viral (4)

It has been proved again that it will never be too late to learn. There is an old lady in Xi'an, known as “Van Gogh Granny”, who has kept on painting for 20 years since she was 80 years old. Her name is Shen Yunying.

Shen was born in 1915 in a little village. She never had a chance to go to school. According to Shen, she always felt drowsy in the day and had a hard time falling asleep in the night after she turned 80, so Shen started to develop her interest in painting even though she never had any professional training. Twenty years later, painting becomes an important part of her daily life.
