The image is of a colourful nudibranch (Flabellina pedata), a type of mollusc, sometimes called a seaslug. The bright colours are a warning, that this slow moving creature is not to be trifled with. It feeds on hydroids, which have powerful sting. This image was taken in Loch Carron, Scotland
