From the dash cam footage, a man is seen jumped on a car, saying “Give me 500 yuan, or I will break your windshield wipers.” The incident took place during the Spring Festival holiday. The footage was later uploaded online, sparking Chinese netizens’ fury. The man in the video is also named “Pengci Bro”.
"Pengci" is a Beijing dialect referring to some malicious and illegal behaviors intended for blackmail purpose. “Pengci” happens on Chinese roads and streets where people would pretend hit by a car and then blackmail the driver for cash, hence the dash cameras’ becoming popular among Chinese drivers as a self-protection method.
The driver, threatened by the "Pengci Bro", said he had called the police at the scene but the “Pengci Bro” had already fled away when the police arrived.
