A man fell into the water while ice-skating in a reservoir recently in Qinhuangdao, north China’s Hebei province. A policeman named Zhang Wei immediately lent a hand. Knowing some basic first aid skills, he took off his daughter's red scarf for the drowning man to grasp. A crowd soon gathered, all came to his rescue.

As the ice was thin, Zhang mobilized people to prostrate on the icy surface in relay to reduce the pressure. They finally managed to pull the man out and all were safe.
