China will blaze a new trail featuring respect and win-win results in engaging in Middle East affairs, said a commentary published on the People's Daily Tuesday on the eve of Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visits to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran.

By pushing forward such a conception, China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, will break the stereotype that "Middle East is a tomb of big world powers," the article added.

Hailing China's active efforts in dealing with the hard problems facing the region's politics and security, the commentary elaborated its philosophy as advocating political solutions and objecting to wars and turbulence.

Contrast to some who distort and defame Islamic civilization using the excuse of counter-terrorism, China opposes associating terrorism with certain ethnicities or religions, the article explained, adding that double standards born out of political bias should also be avoided when combating terrorism.

Besides, China maintains that the UN should take a leading role in resolving Middle East dispute, the commentary noted.

The article also argues China will be more objective and balanced in dealing with regional issues since there is no conflict between China and Middle East states, adding that states in the region also expect China's participation in easing conflicts.

"China is also willing to share its governance experience with regional nations to achieve win-win results," the article pledged.

Besides its efforts in political and security areas, China also helps develop the local economy by conducting pragmatic cooperation.

Xi's proposal to build the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road has invigorated both Chinese and Middle East economies in terms of infrastructure, employment and the risk-resistance capability, the article said.
