Salt Cathedral - Colombia

The mine in Cundinamarca is around 58 miles from the country's capital, and is mote than 500 years old

Constructing a usable chapel 590ft below the Earth's surface is hardly conventional - but it is real, and is located inside this salt mine in Colombia.

Now a major tourist attraction, the mine in Nemocon, Cundinamarca, is around 58 miles from the country's capital Bogota, dates back over 500 years.

Carved salt sculptures and a 16ft cross adorn the cathedral which gets more 3,000 visitors each Sunday.
