Hu Juqiu, 90, runs a small shop of less than 10 square meters in Xiangzhu town, Yongkang city in eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
At the age of 30, Hu and her husband ran shops in other places. And they went back to Xiangzhu town 25 years ago. So it is the sixtieth year for her to running shops.
Hu was born in a wealthy family and graduated from the junior high school. Her good hand-writing is shown on the price tags of cigarettes. At 90 years of age, Hu is in very good health condition except a hearing problem. She opens the shop at 6 a.m. and closes it at 8 p.m. 14 hours of working time never makes her tired.
People who often come to this small shop are mostly old patrons about 70 to 80 years old. Hu sells goods in a rather low price. For instance, one egg is 0.9 yuan, a bottle of beer is 1.3 yuan and white spirit is 1.75 yuan per kilogram. There are always a lot of visitors in the small shop. Hu can earn 100 yuan every day, with profit of around 10 yuan.
However, making money is not her purpose; she wants to see the hilarious atmosphere in the shop. Since her husband's death 20 years ago, running the small shop has been her favorite pastime.
