From school uniforms to wedding outfits, they have known each other for 17 years. From Tangshan to Mohe, 2,300 kilometers and 272 tickets are proof of their selfless love.

Soldier Wang Peng and Zhang Yanjun were in a long-distance relationship for 11 years before they got married. They were classmates in elementary school from 1998, and started dating in high school. After graduating from high school in 2006, the long distance relationship began as Wang joined the army and Zhang went to Baoding for college. In 2008, Wang Peng secured a place at Tianjin Military Transportation University and they finally could meet each every summer and winter vacation. Four years later, Wang Peng proposed. However, in July Wang was stationed in Mohe, the furthest frontier of China.

With less contact, Zhang Yanjun started to worry that their relationship was heading to a dead end. But after she visited Wang Peng several times in Mohe, she began to understand better his integrity as a soldier and the sacrifices he made for the country. They registered to marry in Mohe. Zhang found herself pregnant after she came back home. They had a dreamy wedding in Tangshan. After their daughter was born, Zhang left her job to focus on taking care of their child. Whenever she has time, she always takes her daughter to see Wang in Mohe, which Zhang call “arctic home”.
