China's first "smart light pole" debuted in a street in Shanghai on Oct. 27, 2015. This multi-functional light pole can provide services such as free WIFI, emergency call, electric vehicle and mobile phone charging and information inquiry. Many citizens specially came to the light pole to experience the services.
Installed in Dagu Road of Shanghai, the smart light pole is equipped with charging piles, high definition WebDome, air quality test devices, WIFI and other equipment. In the future, RFID tags, parking meters, traffic indicator lights, information screen and other functions will be added to the smart light pole. The light pole will be a service center for citizens.
