"Chinese Language Spectacular 2015" Concert Held In Sydney

SYDNEY, Oct 15 – The 2nd "Chinese Language Spectacular 2015" Concert featuring performances from NSW Chinese language students was held at Sydney Town Hall on October 14, 2015. The event was jointed held by the Confucius Institute of University of New South Wales and The Chinese Language Teachers Association of NSW.

More than 700 students from 32 schools joined this spectacular event. Various performances, such as joint choir, song and dance, reading Tang poetry, martial arts and so on were presented. Around 200 audiences and more than 1000 teachers and parents also joined the event.

Ms Tang Ying, Deputy Consul-General of the Consulate–General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney gave a speech and appreciated the achievements made by all the students in Chinese language learning. She hopes that more students can become ambassadors of cultural communication between China and Australia.

Professor Iain Martin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of University of New South Wales, highlighted positive effects of Chinese language in the economic and cultural interaction between Australia and China. He encourages students to not only learn Chinese language but also acquire Chinese culture as well.
