Qinghai Lake is a saline lake in the province of Qinghai. It is the largest lake in China and a renowned attraction for travelers from all over the world.

According to the local people, Qinghai Lake was a green and lively world. There were many wetlands covered with lush trees along the lake. In summer, flowers of various colors covered the land like blankets. However, such beautiful scenery can hardly be seen these years.

Traveling 360 kilometers around the lake, garbage can be seen at many tourist sites and villages, especially at the side of the roads and the lake.

In Jiangxigou village in Gonghe county, a garbage pit is only 200 meters to the neighborhoods. A villager said the pit was left by the construction of a building four years ago. Villagers dumped garbage into the pit. In recent years, with the increase in the number of tourists, dining and living garbage in the pit has increased sharply.

In windy days, garbage bags would fly to the grassland and the houses of herdsmen. Garbage is often found in the stomach of dead cows.
