Denise Ho, born in May 1977, is a Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer. She emigrated with her family to Montreal, Quebec at the age of 11, and then studied at Université du Québec in Canada.
Ho's music career was launched in 1996, after she won the 15th New Talent Singing Awards in Hong Kong. Her victory not only earned her a recording contract with Capital Artists Limited, but also a chance to become the only female apprentice of her childhood idol, Anita Mui.
On Nov. 11, 2012, Ho openly acknowledged her sexual orientation when she participated in a Hong Kong Pride Parade called "Dare To Love." During the activity, Ho announced in front of more than 4,000 participants that she was a lesbian.
