President Xi holds talks with President Obama at the White House. Xi puts forward six-point proposal for development of China-US relations. President Xi said that China is willing to work together with the United States to adhere to non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation; constantly expand practical cooperation at bilateral, regional and global levels; and manage differences and sensitive issues with constructive means, so as to ensure that bilateral ties will always move ahead on the right track. The two leaders met with the press after their talks, Friday. Obama spoke first and said he welcomes the rise of the peace, stable and responsible country and will sustain cooperation with China.

President Xi and his US counterpart outlined their common vision for a global climate change agreement, including new steps they will take to deliver on pledges made in 2014 to slash their greenhouse gas emissions.

Xi Jinping said that China and the United States have "a lot of common interests" on the issue of the South China Sea.

 

Xi Jinping attends a luncheon hosted by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry at the State Department in Washington D.C.

Xi Jinping meets Friday with U.S. Congress leaders at the Capitol Hill, calling for managing the differences between the two countries in a proper and constructive way.

The Chinese president will be in New York from Sept 26 to 28 for a series of summits and meetings marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
